Mercedes wheels on a Golf? The wheels are nice, but this is just the wrong car for them.

Merc wheels have been pretty popular among Audi and VW guys for a while now. Audis and later VWs share the same bolt pattern so they're an easy swap, and Merc makes some nice looking stock wheels.

The car's a touch too low for my liking but I like the wheels, they work for me. They're maybe a little flashy for a golf but I think it pulls them off.

I have been toying with the idea of getting a set of these for my MKVI:

I'd want to paint them because that finish is not my thing. The primary attraction is that they're 13 lbs. a piece. These come off of late-90s CLK320s , which seem to be everywhere.

I have never been able to find a picture of them on a MKVI, but I think they wear well on this guy:

I'd rather stick with 15" wheels because you have a lot more tire choices, but the CLK hoops are forged Ronals, supposedly. Well worth it in my opinion.

I see this going on all the time with the VW and Audi crowd and Bentley, Mercedes or crossed wheels (VW with Audi wheels and vice versa). The wheels aren't bad but change the wheel centres because it just looks like you don't respect your car enough to not put badges from other marques on (ie 'yes I drive a VW but at least my wheels are Mercedes').

This is wrong. Everybody knows that GTIs need BBS wheels, the preferred being the CH-R.

Guys that put Benz wheels on their GTI are the same type that have a "No fat chicks - Car will scrape" sticker on their passenger window, then proceed to go pick up fat chicks.
